A significant proportion of students and alumni of the University of Applied Sciences in Safety and Security (VSS), in addition to members of the police, civil protection, firefighting, etc., also include military personnel. Therefore, as a higher education institution that also educates personnel of important national interest, we are proud to announce that the University of Applied Sciences in Safety and Security has signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Croatia.
After the already formalized cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior, the Croatian Firefighters’ Association, the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service and similar organizations, the new partnership with the Ministry of Defense is an important strategic step in the development of the VSS and opens up a wide range of opportunities.

The agreement includes cooperation in the field of higher education, but also in scientific-professional and research-development projects. This has created a basis for more active mutual guest lecturers in educational programs, but also for several activities in the field of joint publications and project applications. In addition, students and lecturers of the University of Applied Sciences will have access to the extensive library collection of the Croatian Military Academy “Dr. Franjo Tuđman”.
On behalf of the Ministry of Defense, the agreement was signed by Minister Ivan Anušić, and on behalf of the Polytechnic of Security Studies, Dean Dr. sc. Luka Leško, DBA.
