Bachelor of Environmental Health and Safety (Blended)

The practical importance and applicability of the curriculum are the key importance in the Bachelor program. The program content covers a range of relevant topics in the safety field. 

During the study you will gain access to practical projects and you will be able to acquire knowledge and skills within the curriculum that you will implement to real-life situations. 

The position of a safety expert is very promising. Employers are obliged by the Law of Occupational Safety to employ an occupational safety specialist if they employ more than 50 workers.

Depending on the fire and explosion hazard assessment, there are similar requirements for hiring fire protection professionals.

Security experts are also employed in insurance and reinsurance companies, security companies, state administration, State Inspectorate, Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Defense, on matters of physical and technical protection, civil protection, firefighting units, companies offering goods and services for the protection of persons and property, etc

After three years of professional safety studies, the student is qualified for independently managing occupational safety as a safety expert. 

In relation to the work complexity of  security experts who complete a three-year study and achieve 180 ECTS credits, there are certain tasks that include:

• development of various norms that are necessary for safety operations
• development of time plans and programs based on risk assessment
• scheduling jobs to executors and checking execution
• checking the quality of performed operations
• identification of possible hazards to safety at work and introduction of safety measures and procedures
• related jobs
• supervision of other associates

For working in a teaching position as a professional teacher of occupational safety or fire protection, for which 180 ECTS credits are obtained, jobs include:

• planning of educational contents for practical teaching
• development of an implementation plan and program of practical teaching
• preparation of practical teaching based on implementation plans and programs
• checking and assessing the achieved practical knowledge and skills of students
• keeping class records and administration
• related jobs
• supervision of other associates
