At the University of Applied Sciences in Security and Safety (VSS), as part of the Environmental Protection course, an exceptionally interesting and informative lecture was held on the topic “Electric Vehicles and Their Environmental Impact”. The guest lecturer was Tomislav Lacković, M.Sc., an expert from the company ECCOS.
During the lecture, Tomislav Lacković thoroughly analyzed the environmental impact of electric vehicles, considering both the positive and negative aspects of their use. He emphasized the importance of understanding the entire life cycle of electric vehicles, including the production, use, and recycling of batteries.
A key part of the lecture was the review of greenhouse gas emissions during the production of electric vehicles, especially batteries. Lacković also addressed battery recycling and the challenges associated with waste management.
Furthermore, an expert highlighted the advantages of electric vehicles, such as reducing emissions during driving, decreasing dependence on fossil fuels, and the potential for using renewable energy sources. He stressed the importance of further research and development to increase the efficiency and environmental friendliness of electric vehicles.
We thank Tomislav Lacković and ECCOS for their valuable insights and support in educating future environmental protection experts.
