The meeting included a detailed presentation of all stages of the construction of the second tube of the Učka tunnel, with special emphasis on safety segments. The high security standards that are integrated into the infrastructure of Istrian epsilon, including the most modern technology and procedures that are aligned with the highest European and world standards, are highlighted. From safety measures in case of emergencies, to everyday maintenance procedures – nothing is left to chance.
After the presentation, Director Trut and his team visited the Tunnel Management Center and the works on the reconstruction of the first tube of the Učka tunnel. The control center enables continuous monitoring and quick response to all potential traffic challenges, which further contributes to the safety of drivers and passengers passing through this infrastructural gem.
This collaboration between the Directorate of Civil Protection and BINA Istria is another example of continuous investment in road infrastructure safety in Croatia. As part of a dedicated team, Professor Dario Silić makes a significant contribution to ensuring that the Učka tunnel and the Istrian epsilon become synonymous with a safe and reliable transport network, while ensuring the best possible conditions for users and employees.
Improving and maintaining the safety standards of such roads is not only an investment in infrastructure – it is an investment in the lives and safety of all Croatian citizens and visitors who pass through this route.
