On Monday, September 30, the new academic year officially began at the Polytechnic of Security Studies with the traditional orientation day for students. This important event provides an opportunity for students to get to know the polytechnic, study programs and all the necessary information that will be crucial for their successful studies.
Dean’s Introductory Lecture
The orientation day began with an introductory speech by Dean Luka Leško, who gave the students an overview of the mission, vision and basic values of the Polytechnic of Security Studies. He emphasized the importance of education in the field of security and motivated students to be committed to learning and training. The dean pointed out that the security industry is constantly growing, and that the skills and knowledge they acquire during their studies will be invaluable for their careers.

Vice Dean on Study Details
After the dean’s speech, Vice Dean Ivica Katavić spoke, who presented the study programs and key aspects of studying at the Polytechnic of Security Studies to the students. Vice-dean Katavić provided an insight into the teaching methods, practical opportunities, and emphasized the importance of interaction between professors and students in order to acquire knowledge as best as possible.

Technical Support of Students
Maja Karlović, head of the student service department, had the task of introducing students to technical information related to student portals and other online tools available to them. She emphasized the importance of using the student portal to access schedules, notifications and other essential resources that will help students organize their responsibilities during their studies.

The orientation ended with an interactive part, where students had the opportunity to ask questions to the dean, vice-dean and head of the student service department. A number of interesting questions were asked about the organization of classes, the possibility of additional activities, as well as the possibility of international exchanges.
