At the University of Applied Sciences in Safety and Security, active student participation in teaching and the development of practical competencies through the exchange of experiences are continuously encouraged. One such example was held in the Risk Management course, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sc. Darko Palačić, where our student Filip Kovačić gave a guest lecture.

A guest lecture by a student represents an added value to the teaching process because it allows colleagues to gain insight into concrete experiences and approaches from practice. Through such activities, students have the opportunity to learn from each other, develop communication skills and better understand the application of theoretical knowledge in real situations.
The topic of risk management is extremely important in the field of security, and it is precisely the exchange of different perspectives that contributes to a better understanding of this complex discipline.
Active role of students in teaching
The University of Applied Sciences in Safety and Security recognizes the importance of involving students in the teaching process, not only as participants, but also as active stakeholders who can contribute to the quality of education.

By participating in such lectures, students develop:
self-confidence in public speaking
ability to present professional topics
critical thinking
understanding of practical challenges
Preparation for professional challenges
These forms of teaching additionally prepare students for future professional roles in the field of security, where communication, presentation and knowledge exchange are an everyday part of the job.
The University of Applied Sciences in Safety and Security continues the practice of involving experts from the industry, as well as its own students, in order to ensure a dynamic and modern educational environment.
We congratulate Filip Kovačić on his lecture and wish him much success in his further professional development.
