Introduce yourself and tell us what motivated you to enroll in our study?
My name is Danijela, I am a mother of two children, I am 46 years old and I work as a Customer Service Manager. I completed my undergraduate studies in safety at VSS, majoring in occupational safety, because I have always been attracted to the topic of safety, human protection, and risk prevention.
I decided to enroll in graduate studies because I want to expand my knowledge and develop new skills that will help me in my everyday work, especially in the areas of people management, communication and organization. I also believe that lifelong learning is key to personal and professional development, I want to be a role model for my children and colleagues and show that it is never too late to invest in education.
How would you describe your experience studying at VSS?
Studying at VSS was challenging, but at the same time very useful and fulfilling. With obligations at work and in my private life, I learned how to organize my time better and set priorities. During my studies, I was often faced with new knowledge and perspectives that opened my eyes to different ways of thinking and solving problems. The collegiality among students and the support of professors were also an important part of my experience.
What skills and knowledge did you acquire during your studies?
I gained extensive knowledge about occupational safety, work process organization, and risk prevention during my studies. I developed analytical skills, the ability to make decisions under pressure, and a better understanding of the legal framework in occupational safety.
In addition to technical knowledge, I also acquired some soft skills such as effective communication, teamwork, and leadership, which are particularly useful to me in my current role as a manager. I also developed the ability to research and solve complex problems, which gives me confidence in new challenges.
Is there a special moment or experience during my studies that you would like to highlight?
I would not single out any special moment during my studies, but the overall experience was very positive. Each new topic, lecture, or task brought its own challenges and learning opportunities, which further motivated me to continue. I would especially highlight the satisfaction I felt when I successfully mastered more complex material or completed assignments that required deeper research. The entire study process was a rich experience for me that shaped me professionally and personally.
Do you think the study was worth it?
I think the study was worth it. In addition to enabling me to grow professionally, the study allowed me to develop myself as a person. I have acquired new knowledge and skills that I am already applying at work, and the additional diploma opens the door for further career advancement. In addition, I feel more secure and competent in my daily work, which is also reflected in my self-confidence.
