As part of the Croatian Fire Safety Forum 2026 professional conference, organized in Opatija by the Croatian Fire Protection Association (HUZOP), a notable lecture was given by Professor Siniša Jembrih, also the commander of the Public Fire Department of the City of Zagreb and a lecturer at the University of Security Studies.

The lecture entitled “The Fire of the Vjesnik skyscraper in Zagreb from the aspect of firefighting intervention” attracted great interest from participants in the fields of firefighting, fire engineering and security. During his presentation, Professor Jembrih analyzed in detail one of the most demanding firefighting interventions in recent years, with special emphasis on operational command, firefighter safety, tactics of action in tall buildings and coordination of emergency services.

The conference participants particularly emphasized the value of practical experience from real interventions, as well as the professional approach that presented lessons learned and possibilities for improving the fire protection system in urban areas. The lecture was considered extremely professional and useful for firefighters, designers and safety experts from Croatia and the region.
