He graduated from the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb in 1982. and three years later at the same faculty he obtained a master’s degree in international relations. He has been working as an assistant at the University of Zagreb for six years. He received his PhD in July 2012. at the University of Zagreb on the topic: George Bush’s Politics and Islamic Terrorism.
Since 1987. until 1991. He worked at the Zagreb University of Applied Sciences.
He worked in the Croatian Helsinki Committee for Human Rights (1994/95), and two years later was elected a member of the City Assembly of the City of Zagreb. In the 2000 parliamentary elections. was elected a member of the Croatian Parliament.
He then worked as a director at Profil, the largest publishing and distribution company in Croatia.
In 2006. becomes the head of the City Office for Education, Culture and Sports of the City of Zagreb.
Since 2008. He is the head of the Office for Emergency Management of the City of Zagreb.
