On March 12, 2024, the promotion of Dr. Tomislav Dokman’s book, published by the Croatian University Publishing House, titled “Open Source Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism,” took place at the Bogdan Ogrizović Library and Reading Room in Zagreb. This book represents a pioneering scientific and professional overview that focuses on the role and importance of intelligence information from open sources (OSINT) and highlights their applicability and usefulness in the field of counter-terrorism. Dr. Tomislav Dokman is the director of the Center of Excellence for Open Source Data Collection, Processing, and Analysis. This international center was established as a hub of expertise and experience in the field of collecting, processing, and analyzing data from open sources, aiming to develop doctrine and standardized procedures for increased productivity in utilizing open source data and interoperability among European security and intelligence agencies.
Among others, the book was presented by Prof. Dr. Mirko Bilandžić, a collaborator of the College of Security Studies (CSS), and the event was attended by the dean of the CSS, Dr. Luka Leško, DBA. As courses at the CSS cover topics compatible with the content of the book, such as the Protection from Terrorism course, this book is highly recommended for students and others interested in the broader field of security.
