Last week, VSS entered into three new partnerships, one with an academic and two with industrial partners. The new academic partner is the National Defence College “G. S. Rakovski” in Bulgaria, while Croatian Roads (Hrvatske ceste) and OIV – Digital Signals and Networks are the new industrial partners. The agreements were signed by Dean Dr. Luka Leško, DBA, on behalf of VSS, and by Commander Todor Dochev on behalf of the Military Academy. Josip Škorić, Dipl. Ing. Eng., signed the agreement on behalf of Croatian Roads, and Mate Botica, CEO, signed on behalf of OIV – Digital Signals and Networks.
The Military Academy (BUL), or the National Defence College “G. S. Rakovski” in Bulgaria, is a national institution of higher education, qualification, and applied scientific research related to the military aspect of national security, strategic defense management, and operational command of the Armed Forces. It leads and trains Bulgarian and foreign military officers and civilian personnel as part of acquiring higher education. In addition to training, it conducts scientific research in the field of security and defense.
- Their goal is to shape and educate competent leaders and experts through education, development, and the provision of necessary knowledge, capable of managing the Armed Forces and other elements of national security and defense.
- Through specialized training, they ensure the growth of Command Staff and prepare them for their managerial responsibilities at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels of command and management of the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defense, state administration, NATO structures and headquarters, and multinational missions.
Croatian Roads (Hrvatske ceste) are tasked with managing, constructing, and maintaining state roads as their primary mission. Their aim is to effectively connect Croatian regions through transportation while linking them to European traffic routes. By developing road infrastructure, they facilitate the integration of the Croatian economy into the international environment and ensure dynamic economic development.
- Croatians Roads have established an environmental management system that they apply and maintain in their operations in line with their core organizational values, continuously fulfilling compliance obligations with relevant legal regulations in the field of environmental protection.
- A high level of awareness of the importance of positive environmental impact, as well as the establishment of environmental protection goals and programs, are integrated into the operations and all business activities of Croatians Roads to continually improve the environmental protection system.
OIV – Digital Signals and Networks is the primary provider of national strategic communication infrastructure, offering users reliable digital networks and platforms for signal transmission, content distribution, and data transfer through a fiber-optic internet network for mission-critical services.
- They are actively present in countries in the region where they continue to expand with consulting services as well as design, installation, and maintenance services for digital terrestrial television systems (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia).
The aim of these collaborations is to enhance the quality of teaching and study programs at VSS, to bring VSS study programs closer to the employees and associates of all partner institutions with which collaboration has been established. This is achieved through the exchange of professional information, project development, organization of expert lectures, and similar activities. These collaborations reflect the interests and needs of all parties involved and contribute to achieving mutual benefits.
